ASYLUM SEEKERS CAN APPLY FOR PERMISSION TO WORK

Pwede ng mag-apply sa Home Office UK Visas and Immigration ang mga asylum seekers ng right to work. Magandang balita ito! Napapansin ng maraming legal professionals na unti-unti ng binibigyan ng Immigration Office ang mga tao na dating hindi pwede, ngayon ay pwede na silang mag send ng request for permission to work in the UK. Could it be the beginning of the good time that can pave the way for the full amnesty? Yan ang nararamdaman ko.

Very recently, the UK High Court found that the Home Office’s Policy in denying asylum seekers right to work is unlawful. This is good news for people whose asylum claim is still pending, especially those with children. There is also a call for the UK to open up due to massive labour shortage in the UK.

Permission to work application process

All applications for permission to work from asylum seekers or failed asylum seekers should be made by writing to UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) and should include the following information:

  • full name of the applicant, date of birth and nationality
  • Home Office reference number
  • a statement setting out the request for permission to work
  • contact details for the applicant and legal representative (if they have one)

If your asylum claim is pending and you want to apply for permission to work, please get in touch with me and I will help you.
