When you believe in yourself, anything becomes possible. Champions are made to believe in themselves when nobody else will. Believing in yourself is not an option but a decision that you must have to be successful in making your dreams a reality.
I can do all this through him who gives me strength. – Philippians 4:13
The Scripture begins with the word: “I can…” Why we do not say “belief in God”? Are we not taking the Lord out of the equation here? Are we not becoming conceited, full of pride? No. This is not to say we no longer believe in God. Of course, we do: He is the source of the power and the ability. But the power has been given to us already. In Luke 10:19: “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth…Deutoronomy 8:18
It has been given to us already and what we need is just to use it. We have the ability built in us through Christ. What we have to do now is to believe that that power can take us to a place we wanted to go and to achieve things beyond our ability.
God never puts anyone in a place too small too grow. -John Maxwell
At the time of this writing, the President of Gambia has just been inaugurated. And the headline is: “Adama Barrow: from Argos security guard to President of the Gambia.” Argos is mainly based in the United Kingdom selling electronic items. But if you read his biography, you could sense that there was a belief in him, hunger to become successful. Life has taken him from nobody to a somebody.
Ganyan din tayo. The power is already given to us by the Almighty. It is now up to us, whether we use it or not. It is like you have a Ferrari car which is capable of a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph). If you drive slow, it is you that do not enjoy the privilege. But champions are believers of themselves, they shine and they deliver.
Look at David. He believed in himself. Because he killed lions and bears with his own bare hands, he then said to King Saul with confidence:
And David said, “The Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. 1 Samuel 17:37
Believe in yourself. You’ve got the power in you! As John Maxwell said: “The greatest mistake we make is living in constant fear that we will make one.” Do not be afraid to make mistakes. If you believe in yourself and put your confidence in God, the whole universe will conspire to fulfill your dreams. You become who you believe you are.
