It is God’s privilege to conceal things… Proverbs 25:2 (NLT)
Ipapakita sa iyo ng Lord ang mga magagandang bagay sa buhay mo pero hindi Niya agad ipapakita sa iyo kung paano. He will show you His vision but will not tell you how you get there. God told the Israelites the Promised Land where milk and honey flows, but never told them that they have to travel for 40 years. God showed Joseph the throne to become Egypt’s prime minister but He never said he will be betrayed by his brothers, thrown into the pit, become a slave, falsely accused of rape and be in prison.
The vision is the picture of your end and between the end and where you are is called “the journey”. The journey is the process that will take you to your destination, “the promise”. God showed Joseph that he will be mighty in the land of Egypt, he will be revered as the second highest man in command, sitting on a throne to rule but the Lord never told him the journey, to fulfil that vision. If Joseph knew what it takes to be on the throne, the price he has to pay for that vision, he would have said: “God, forget that throne! I don’t like it.”
There is a reason why God will conceal and hide the process for us to achieve our dreams. Big dreams require big faith, big commitment, big risks. It’s not for faint hearted. If it was made easy, then everyone will get it to succeed in life. But to be great, you have to keep trusting God who knows what you need to get to your destination. For us to achieve the promise, we have to trust God during the process, while we are on the journey.
Even your mistakes, can be a part of the journey. The Bible says this in Romans 8:28, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God.” You may not understand it now why bad things happen: your spouse left you, your friend betrayed you, you lost your job or someone died, but you are about to find that those are part while you are on the journey towards your great destiny. Hindi yan isolated case to harm and punish you. Those trials and tests are put in place to strengthen your character, patience and your vision. God will take you to different stages of your journey to develop you and to prepare you for what He prepared for you.
God showed Abraham the stars above and the sand by the seashore because he will become the father of many nations. But the Lord never revealed that one day Abraham was to be required to offer his only son Isaac in the Mount Moriah. How difficult was that for Abraham to be told he will become the father of many but was asked that his only son, born at the old age, will be taken away from him? Did Abraham complain? No. He did not, because he knew God is good and it was part of the journey to what the Lord has prepared for him. Look at what Abraham said before they set off to the mountain: In the book of Genesis 22:5, Abraham said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.” Notice the word “we” which confirms that Abraham believed that Isaac will come back with him.
I want to encourage you today that if something is happening and you don’t understand, expect that something good will come out of that mess. Right now where you are is not where you want to be. Don’t panic. God knows where you and how you are. The Bible says this in Psalms 37:23, “If you do what the LORD wants, he will make certain each step you take is sure.” If you keep trusting God, He will ensure that your steps are established whatever you do shall prosper (Psalms 1:3).
