Stop Controlling Others

We all want to be in control of our lives, but sometimes we try to control the people around us, especially our loved ones, and that’s where the trouble starts. If you want to live a peaceful life, it’s important to stop trying to control other people and have harmony in the way you interact with them. Trying to make someone do what you want and taking control of relationships not only causes fights, but also takes away all the happiness in your life. If you try to accept the people around you, welcome their flaws instead of trying to change them, and try to be a good friend, you’ll be on your way to a happier life right away.

Kahit ang Diyos, kahit kaya Niyang baguhin ang lahat ng tao, but no He did not do that.

In the book of Genesis 2:16-17 “And the LORD God commanded him, “You may eat freely from every tree of the garden, but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

He gave humans the right to choose so dapat ganyan din tayo. Walang pwersahan. Walang pilitan. Let people become who they are, without the need to control them. Give them a chance to choose and be natural without pretending to be someone they are not. Give other people a chance to be human. Don’t put too much pressure on them to change the way you want to be.

Your happiness and peace is not someone else’s responsibility. Be at peace whoever they become. Life is too short to live offended. Don’t let other’s behavior affect you and make your day sour. Make up your mind that this is the day that the Lord has made and choose to be happy. You cannot control what other people do but you can control what you do. Don’t allow them to keep upsetting you. Decide to stay in peace and calm.

Imagine you are driving a car with a spare tire. Always have an extra tire in your car, so to speak. If ever you get your tire punctured, because of an expected accident, just take out the flat tire, get your spare tire and move on. Ganyan din sa buhay, huwag mong hayaan na yong mga bagay na hindi maganda to stop your life. Don’t allow others poison to contaminate you and ruin your day. Guard your heart because Jesus even said that offences will come on a regular basis which make you bitter. But you can choose to be at peace anyway.

When someone says negative into you, you can be upset and offended, but don’t fall into that trap, choose to enjoy your day. Do not engage into conflict all the time, just ignore it as it will distract you from being at your best.

In the Bible, David was mocked by his big brother Eliab that he should not be there in the match against Goliath. Eliab disrespected David in the front of many soldiers. Eliab was mocking David: “who is looking after our sheep? Why are you here?” David did not mind Eliab but went on to fight Goliath and won. David could be upset and prove Eliab was wrong but no. David got up and choose to fight a bigger enemy that put him to the throne. The same thing, choose your battle wisely. You do not have to always engage in small petty quarrels that do not give you any benefit at all. Protect your peace at all cost.

Proverbs 20:3 says this, “Avoiding a fight is a mark of honor; only fools insist on arguing.” It doesn’t say that winning a fight, showing your point, or straightening someone out is a sign of honor.

It’s not your job to change others. When someone is against you and discredit you to make you look bad, but keep honoring God, He will take care of all oppositions against you and will promote you. Your enemies will see you vindicated because God is fighting for you.

You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Psalms 23:5

In the Bible, Nehemiah’s story shows that whenever you try to accomplish anything significant for the Lord, you will face strong opposition. But he did not mind the defamatory words and kept working on the things that matter to him – building the house of God. He succeeded to finish and complete what he started.

Don’t waste time people who are small minded who wants to steal your peace. If you are going to achieve greatness, you must learn to ignore the bashers the jealous people – keep moving forward.
