And he said to man, ‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding.’
But the truth is, pareho silang tama.
Just because you are right, does not mean I am wrong.
Maganda din sa tao ang may insights. It is defined by Cambridge Dictionary:
Insight is (the ability to have) a clear, deep, and sometimes sudden understanding of a complicated problem or situation:
Pwede naman tama pareho sina A and B but the issue is: will being right burn the bridge between them? Hope not. In Romans 8: 38 it says this: “And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”
Kung tama ka man sa iyong sariling pang-unawa, and the other person also insist na tama din sya, maaaring pareho kayo tama. But if, yung pagiging ‘tama’ ninyo pareho ay magpapahiwalay sa inyo, then it becomes wrong because the impact is so destructive that it separates you both.
Being right is one thing but valuing your relationship more than your ego should be the goal for both of you.
