God’s Commanded Blessings

In Deuteronomy 28:8

“The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns [storehouses] and in all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.”

You see that the Almighty God holds and controls the blessings. In the book of Genesis [insert verse], He said, let there be light and there was light. He did not check if it’s possible or not. He just said and things happened by the speed of light.

You see when God is going to bless you, He will not check your academic or professional background, nor your social or marital status. When He blesses you, He can put you the front when everybody thinks you do not deserve it.

God has the power to raise you up and make you a winner, a champion despite having bad breaks and bad lucks.

Peter: I remember when Peter said to Jesus: “all night we have been fishing but to no avail. But because of your word, we will again cast our net back to the sea.” Peter saw that God has commanded the fish to be at the specific spot where Peter. It is interesting to know that the night before there was no fish, and the day after, there was so much fish that even Peter could not manage the fish that he has to call other fishermen to help him.

Kaya minsan hindi ako naniniwala na palaging nasa Diyos ang awa at nasa tao ang gawa. But when the favor of God comes upon you, believe it or not, but He can take from the last and make you the first, from the tail and make you the head, from being a loser to become the winner.

Ruth -There was this lady from Moab, named Ruth. Her tribe was cursed by God because of the Moabites’ worship of idols. Her husband died and even her mother-in-law, Naomi told Ruth to go back to Moab and move on with her life, get married again and have children. But Ruth said: “no mom, I will follow you. Wherever you go, I will go. I will even worship your God and leave Moab to live with you in Israel.”

Upon going back to Israel, Noemi said to those people who recognize her, don’t call Naomi but call me Mara because God has cursed me. Despite that, Ruth kept serving and loving her mother-in-law. Every morning, she went to the field and pick up leftovers, seeds of grains for her and Naomi to live. It was very difficult as they were very poor. But one day, the owner of the land saw Ruth named, Boaz.

Boaz was one of the richest men in their community. He told his men to intentionally drop loads of grains so that Ruth can pick it up. The rest is history. Ruth and Boaz fell in love with each other. From being cursed, from just picking the leftover grains, she became the owner of the land. God has commanded the blessing to the life of Ruth.

Don. For years I used to sell real estate and was doing really good but politics and envy got in the way and I found myself unable to enter my office in 2010. The company created and manufactured lies against me which were all unsubstantiated and unfounded. All fabricated. I went home to beg for my CEOs but they turned a blind eye and they listened to my critics. I challenged them to our Employment Tribunal but I lost at the Court of Appeals and to the Supreme Court. I spent so much money in legal fees and airfare going back to the Philippines. I suffered depression.

To make the matter worse, when I arrived the UK, I read on a Filipino newspaper: Notice to the Public. My name was an almost half page advert to all the United Kingdom. I cried a lot and I started to live by asking my family back home to send me money over here to the UK.

But I read in the Bible and relied upon it:

Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns–and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

I slowly started to move on but could not find a decent job. Sirang-sira na ako at wala na akong maipakitang mukha sa mga tao dahil sa kahihiyan. You know in media, walang katarungan.

Psalms 40:3 He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God.

In 2013, the Maranatha church in London was born and at the time of this writing, we are celebrating our 4th year church anniversary. I realigned my life with God. I may not get that money I deserve, but God has commanded so many blessings I cannot thank Him enough. Ang dami kong naging blessings.

Balaam. In the book of Numbers 22, Balaam was hired to curse Israel. Balak, the king of Moab and other kingdoms gathered together and bring payments to Balaam to curse the Israelites. Balaam said: “Ok I will pray about it and ask my God what He says.” But God said to Balaam:  But God said to Balaam, “Don’t curse My people, Israel, because they are blessed.”

You see it does not matter when people curse you because it will not be effective because you are highly favored and the child of the Most High God. If Balaam was here, he would have said the same thing to you, “you are blessed.”

Arlene. There was a lady whose family lives in a squatter area in Mandaluyong. I met her many years ago at the time when she ran away. She then gave her life to Christ and is now serving the ministry with a whole heart. Now, God commanded a blessing into her life as she acquired a 700sqm of land paid upfront by her employer. You see, even those people who don’t know you can even be used by God to your advantage.

If God can command the fish to be where Peter was, God can also command the blessings to come into your life.

If God can command Boaz, the richest man in the land, to bless Ruth, God can also command the right people, right connections, the right business, the right employment to prosper you.

Joseph. He was sold into slavery by his own family. He was wrongly accused of raping his employer’s wife. He was put into prison. But at the prison, he met the butler of the Pharaoh who told how Joseph is a godly man and can interpret the Pharaoh’s dreams. God commanded the people to bless Joseph that put him the next in command in the land of Egypt.

General Bato. Dela Rosa was born on January 21, 1962 at Barangay Bato, Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur, to Teodoro Diamaton dela Rosa, Sr. and Anesia Cruspero Marapon.[1][2] His family was “dirt poor” as his father earned little money working as a tricycle driver.[4][5] The young Dela Rosa worked as a fish market porter and bus conductor. He also did his classmates’ homework in exchange for lunch. He used to walk 8 kilometers daily from school to home. His name is now known as General Bato. He bypassed from a 1-star officer, but God made him a four-star general.

I remember the first miracle in a wedding at a place Cana. People knew at that time that the best wine has to be matured for at least 20-40 years. But Jesus turned the water into the best wine in few seconds.

Indeed, God can command His blessings to come upon your life, today. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
