On January 16, 2024, the Immigration (Health Charge) (Amendment) Order 2024 became law. You can now find it on legislation.gov.uk. Forms sent on or after February 6, 2024, which is 21 days after the order became law, will be charged the new rates. It will cost an extra £624 per year to apply for a visa, but that will go up to £1,035 per year. The fee for the lower rate will go up from £470 per year to £776 per year.

If you apply on or after February 6, 2024, these new rates will apply. This includes people who are already in the UK and are in the middle of an immigration route or track.

If you can, send in your forms before that date. And if you really, really can’t pay it, you might want to ask for a fee reduction. Also, a seminar with no fees is coming up—see below. But keep in mind that waivers are tough to get.
