They hate themselves. The Bible say in the Isaiah 64:8 “The Lord is the potter and we are the clay…” Ang kelangan lang ay tanggapin natin kung ano tayo while He is changing us.
Whether you like it or not, but you always have you. You eat with you. You sleep with you. You take a shower with you. You work and exercise with you. There is no way you can run away with you! You don’t have a choice but to like and love you.
Lahat tayo ay may mga kahinaan. But the good news is that you are not a finished product yet. You are a masterpiece in the making. Look at Monalisa which was painted by Leonardo Da Vinci. The statue of David sculpted by Michaelangelo. When they first saw the blank canvas, Michaelangelo saw a work of art while people never did. When people saw a piece of rock, they thought that nothing will come out of it. But Michaelangelo saw a masterpiece out of it. In the same way you have masterpiece. Maaring hindi mo pa kita ito, but one day those trials, those sickness, rejections and loss are ways of God to take the best out of you. You have a designer who knows who you are, what you need and when you need it.
Bakit ganoon? Akala natin ay mga pagkakamali o kamalasan ng buhay but we never realised that the Creator of the universe, the designer much better than Leonardo Da Vinci and Michaelangelo has started the work from a blank canvass.
If you remember that in the book of Genesis, God created all things and He said they were “good.” But when God created man, He said that it is “very good.” This can take us to the book of St John 3:16 that said “For God so lavishly loved the world…” Sobrang mahal na mahal tayo ng Diyos and therefore He can say when He created you: “Wow, there is the masterpiece!”
Despite of your imperfections God has approved you and accepted you. Even biblical heroes commit sin. For instance, God is teaching us that we are all sinners; Noah became drunk and exposed himself; Moses lost his temper; David committed adultery and commanded to have his mistress husband killed; Peter denied Christ three times; and Barnabas fell into false doctrine. Did God use it against them so they could not bring glory to His name? The answer is “No!” In fact, God did not change the the words: “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” We all know who Jacob was. He was a scammer, a cheat and a deceiver. But our God is the God of the perfect and the imperfect.
In the book of Jeremiah, he said to the Lord: “Panginoon, bata pa po ako at hindi ko po alam ang mga sasabihin ko.” But God responded to him: “Do not say that you are too young. I will give you the words to speak. Do not be afraid to people because I will be with you wherever you go.” Sinasabi ng Lord sa kanya, “I am the potter and you are the clay. I will mold you and design what I want you to be. I know your weakness but I have accepted and anointed you.”
Hebrews chapter 12:2 says this that “we have to fix our eyes on Jesus and looking away from all that will distract…” God is the author and finisher of our faith. He has a purpose for you why you’re here on earth. He is not just an author but a finisher which means that He will keep being with you until you finish what He wants you to accomplish.
God is making a masterpiece out of you. You may have shortcomings and flaws, but just like Peter who betrayed and left the Lord, Jesus said to Peter: “Follow me, and I WILL MAKE YOU…” These words resonate to Peter in the book of Acts when they were looking to give inaugural to address the early Christians -after Jesus died and rose again. They did not look for a rabbi, or a theologian or highly educated Jewish, but they asked Peter. He remembered what Jesus said: “from Simon I will change your name to Peter which means ‘rock’. Upon this rock I will build My kingdom.” (Matthew 16:18) Peter was anointed to bring thousands of people to Jesus and converted them to Christians. Indeed, out of his faults and misdemeanor, Jesus overlooked those wrongs and instead He created a “masterpiece” out of Peter. Don’t be hard to yourself. Accept yourself while God is changing you. Don’t blame yourself but instead trust the Lord and say: “Dear God, I have these problems in me but like Peter, I will allow you to MAKE ME your masterpience. Use me for your honor and glory in Jesus name. Amen!”
